No crucial replacement parts available!

I really like this grinder. It is not a grueling experience operating it. But, there's a weakness in an important component. It's the clear plastic cover that fits over the two gears at the top of the machine. It is precisely where you want to have your spare hand hanging on to the machine as you turn the crank arm--it is the most stable spot. That clear plastic cover protects the palm of your hand from the two nylon/plastic gears. I contacted ROK about getting a replacement of this plastic cover and was told they do not carry that as a spare! I was seriously surprised that a company making a truly outstanding grinder (and coffee press too) would not have replacement parts available for this $250 manual coffee mill. I would hope ROK could start to carry more replacement parts for their innovative products. maybe folks in the 3D printing world could create some parts...

Hi Shugo, You make a very good point. Your grinder will not be a pleasue to use with this missing part. We will look again at finding a way to get a part to you as soon as possibe. We will be in touch directly on email.

ROK Grinder

Loving it!!! It’s a real master of workmanship and such a pleasurably experience to grind coffee beans fresh in the morning. I’m in a hotel at the moment and it’s also great that it doesn’t make any noise like an electric grinder. I’m sure I’d get complaints if I did. The housekeeper came in to clean yesterday and she was impressed by it the moment she saw it. I think she might buy one.

I really like it.

I saw this grinder at a friend’s house. I thought it was very cool with its big handle and all the metal. The same friend introduced to pour overs which is a method I started using myself. I started with an electric blade grinder and as I learned more about pour overs, I wanted to be able to repeat a consistent grind to get the best draws. Grind size and consistency has been great. You do have to do a little trial and error, or at least I did, to get the grind where you want it. I bought some very cheap whole bean coffee for that.
This grinder is great for me. So far it has done what I needed it to do. I find the hopper easily holds 35 to 40 grams of beans and the cover that was included keeps them in the hopper as I grind.
It does take up space on your counter, but it looks great doing so.
I enjoy my morning coffee ritual, and this grinder has definitely enhanced it.

The grinder is beautifully made and a joy to use and with the new smartshot basket in place makes the perfect cup of coffee.
