Hardened steel conical burrs combined with a long, stable axle ensure remarkably consistent particle size and fluffiness – up there with the best electric beasts.

Visual treat

Add fresh beans to the wide hopper, drink-in their glorious promise and prepare to watch them spiral down and transform into perfect miniature taste bombs.

Grind it up, with feeling

Gently mill those beans with an easy, vertical winding, geared to give maximum feel and control. Enjoy the moment, without any jarring buzz-saw noise. Let the growing aroma assail your senses with the promise of coffee perfection to come.

Robust, planet friendly

ROK grinder is solidly engineered to last decades and minimise energy use. No unnecessary electric motor to wear out – we harness simple mechanical advantage. The burrs are case-hardened to keep their edge, and if after a year or two’s heavy use you want to replace them, it’s a simple job to fit new ones.

No seal

Of the two jars I purchased, one of the lids won't seal. It will fall to the bottom of the jar under its own weight, with no "hissing" sound. The other lid fits well on both jars. The most troubling part of this is that customer support seems non-existent at ROK. I've used their online form as well as the suggested email address. They do offer a support number for phoning them in London, but an 8 hour time difference makes that one problematic, so I haven't tried it yet.

Hi Bill, we're sorry to learn that one of the lid seals is faulty and that you could not connect with us. I agree with you - that IS troubling and we're looking into why. I'll get one of our team to reach out directly and fix this issue for you.

I really like it.

I saw this grinder at a friend’s house. I thought it was very cool with its big handle and all the metal. The same friend introduced to pour overs which is a method I started using myself. I started with an electric blade grinder and as I learned more about pour overs, I wanted to be able to repeat a consistent grind to get the best draws. Grind size and consistency has been great. You do have to do a little trial and error, or at least I did, to get the grind where you want it. I bought some very cheap whole bean coffee for that.
This grinder is great for me. So far it has done what I needed it to do. I find the hopper easily holds 35 to 40 grams of beans and the cover that was included keeps them in the hopper as I grind.
It does take up space on your counter, but it looks great doing so.
I enjoy my morning coffee ritual, and this grinder has definitely enhanced it.

The grinder is beautifully made and a joy to use and with the new smartshot basket in place makes the perfect cup of coffee.

I found the ROK Grinder was better than Niche Zero (at over twice the RRP) in both taste and extraction. I used Linear Binary Patterns (LBP) to describe the particles, and then I used K-means Clustering to classify them. The ROK grinder produces better grounds above 500 microns than the Niche Zero.
