I have truly enjoyed the Presso Smartshot. It exceeded my expectations! I love the flavor (which tastes pretty authentic) and the crema (foam). The contraption is sturdy, sleek and easy to use.
The only reason that kept me from giving it a 5 star is the fact that espresso is not super hot like I prefer it. It is possible that I am missing a step... :)

Thanks for your review. We recommend pre-heating both the portafilter and your cup with boiling water, leave for approx 1 min, before loading and pulling the shot. With pre-heating this way expect the coffee temperature to be around 155 F or more. See our FAQs for more detail. Thanks.
PRO - The size is good, thin and light in weight. The whisk does create lovely thick schiuma (Italian for milk foam). Despite the unreliable starts, the whisk is a 'keeper'.
CON - Not always reliable to work when one presses down on the top. It may start to whisk, then stop, so we tried it again, or it may not start at all. Not sure if there is a specific location on the top where one needs to press for the batteries to engage the whisk.
Great way to have a consistent espresso beverage without having to worry about constantly descaling and swapping out filters. If you're not too concerned with the technical aspects of making espresso and just want reliable, excellent drinks, this is for you. It is easy to clean and takes up almost no counter space.
